Annual Meeting + Team-Building Retreat in Charleston

For their second annual meeting with Gravel Experiential, Health Delegates brought the entire team to Charleston for three days of strategy, connection and serious Southern hospitality. This is the one time each year the whole group gets together, so every detail has to count.

Home base was The Cooper, Charleston's brand-new luxury waterfront hotel, and it stole the show. Sweeping harbor views, stunning interiors and a hotel team that was an absolute pleasure to partner with made it the stay everyone was talking about long before checkout.

Between meeting sessions, the group explored the Holy City the way it deserves to be seen. A boat tour took everyone out on the harbor, rickshaws kept the team moving through the historic streets in style, and horse-drawn carriages led both daytime history tours and after-dark haunted rides (a few people are still checking over their shoulders).

Evenings were just as memorable. A welcome reception on the Terrace at The Cooper was set with elegant linens and lush florals. Guests even left with a new pair of sunglasses, just right for the Lowcountry sun. Tuesday night at Iron Rose at the Mills House brought the whole team together over cocktails, fresh florals and custom branded pillows.

The result? An annual meeting that felt less like a work trip and more like a Charleston getaway with purpose, and a second chapter that sets the bar high for year three.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do you plan an annual meeting when it's the only time the entire company gets together?

A: When the whole team gathers just once a year, the program has to deliver on two fronts: productive business sessions and real connection. We build agendas that give meetings focused, well-supported time, then balance them with shared experiences that get people talking across teams and departments. Venue choice matters enormously here. A standout hotel sets the tone from arrival, and local activities give colleagues who rarely see each other a natural reason to connect.

Q: What makes Charleston a great destination for corporate annual meetings and team-building retreats?

A: Charleston combines world-class hospitality, an exceptional food scene and a walkable historic district, all framed by stunning water views. That mix makes it easy to design programs that feel special without heavy logistics. Harbor boat tours, carriage history tours, rickshaw transportation and evening receptions at iconic local venues give groups an authentic taste of the city between meeting sessions, while new luxury properties like The Cooper raise the bar for group stays.

Q: How do you coordinate multiple local vendors for a multi-day corporate retreat?

A: Multi-day programs run on detailed planning and trusted local partnerships. We manage every vendor, from tour operators and transportation to florals, rentals and photography, under one timeline so transitions feel effortless for guests. Our team handles hotel coordination, activity scheduling and on-site management throughout, so attendees can stay fully present and leadership can focus on the goals of the meeting.
